SAD NEWS FOR PITTSBURGH STEELERS BAD INJURY…..

Cam Heyward’s injury is bad news for the Steelers.

The captain of theĀ  Steelers defense may be going on injured reserve.
Pittsboro, PA Cam Heyward, the starting defensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is expected to be placed on injured reserve as a result of a groin injury he sustained in Week 1, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

During the San Francisco 49ers game, Heyward exited the field early. He attempted to come back, but was helped off the field after just one play. At that point, he was declared out of the game.

Heyward is a possibility for injured reserve (IR) and will probably miss many weeks due to the injury, according to Rapoport. Right now, he is weighing all of his alternatives, including having surgery.

In Heyward’s absence, the Steelers would start Keeanu Benton, Isaiahh Loudermilk, or DeMarvin Leal. Defensive tackle Loudermilk is now listed as the backup, but Benton and Leal would also play if necessary.

Wide receiver Diontae Johnson, as well as offensive lineman Chuks Okorafor and James Daniels, are among the several injuries the Steelers are currently dealing with
