‘SIGN HIM’: PUNDIT TELLS LIVERPOOL TO GO AND BUY £250,000-A-WEEK ‘GREAT PLAYER’

Transfer: If he goes, everyone will be sad - Reece James on Chelsea midfielder - Daily Post Nigeria

TalkSPORT pundit Dean Saunders has said that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should try to sign Reece James from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The former Liverpool player has said on talkSPORT (7:23am, July 3,  2023) that Reece James is a great player, and that the Chelsea right-back would be a very good signing for Liverpool.

Liverpool star agrees with Arsenal to play under Mikel Arteta

Trent Alexander-Arnold is the number one right-back at Liverpool, but the England international could be deployed in midfield given his impressive performances when played in that role for club and country.

Saunders said about Liverpool, as transcribed by TBR: “I think maybe they need another centre-back.”

Co-host Natalie Sawyer replied: “And you think maybe another right-back possibly if they utilise Trent [Alexander-Arnold] in midfield?”

Saunders responded: “Sign Reece James from Chelsea. Sign him, if he can stay fit he’s a great player.”

Could Liverpool sign Reece James from Chelsea?

The lowdown on Liverpool FC

In our opinion, Liverpool will not be able to sign Reece James from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

There is no way that Chelsea will sell James this summer.

True, the £250,000-a-week (Spotrac) 23-year-old right-back has had injury problems, but he is one of the best players in his position in the Premier League.

Chelsea are simply not going to sell James this summer.

Unless, of course, they are offered a ridiculous amount of money for him.

And Liverpool are unlikely to do so, especially when manager Jurgen Klopp may not actually play Alexander-Arnold in midfield week in and week out.
