The Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers are playing football in the AFC. After the first quarter, the Steelers were ahead in the game, but the Titans’ surge was met with bad luck. LB. Adam Schefter reports that Cole Holcomb was taken off the field following a horrific leg injury.

After catching a pass and sprinting down the field, Deandre Hopkins was brought down with help from Holcomb. After landing clumsily, Holcomb clutched his left knee in pain. It’s unlikely that the Pittsburgh linebacker will play again.
Holcomb is hoping for a quick recovery. Thus far in the 2023–24 season, the 27-year-old has accumulated 31 solo tackles and two forced fumbles.
The Steelers defense, which just finished allowing the Jacksonville Jaguars 377 total yards of offense in Week 8, is severely harmed by his absence. With six solo tackles and four assists during the game, Holcomb was essential to Pittsburgh’s resilience.
Due to an ankle injury, Motravius Adams also exited the Titans game in the first quarter. But there is still hope. Pittsburgh still has an adequate number of players to stall Tennessee’s offensive. The Steelers expect Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt to head the linebacking duties going forward.
Holcomb had two assists as he finished the game. Players like him being taken off the field with injuries like his is heartbreaking, but hopefully the diagnosis is not too catastrophic.
Pittsburgh hopes to win the game by riding the momentum of Holcomb’s contributions. The Steelers can win the game and advance in the AFC North if they can slow down Derrick Henry.
