Report says Bengals WR Tee Higgins is expected to miss Week 10 with a hamstring injury; Ja’Marr Chase plans to play .
Joe Burrow may have to rely on other teammates
The Cincinnati Bengals are in great shape, having won four straight against the Houston Texans at home on Sunday.
But the Bengals’ pace could slow, with one of their star players likely out in Week 10 and possibly longer.
Tee Higgins, who suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday’s practice, is not expected to face the Texans and will be tested weekly, per NFL Media.
However, Ja’Marr Chase returned to practice on Thursday as he was dealing with back soreness after being exposed hard to it in Week 9.
After practice, Chase gave an update Encouraging updates about your Status.
“In my head, I was playing,” Chase said of his game against the Texans, via CLNS Media.
“Until further notice and anything else, we’ll see.
” Chase appeared to be injured while trying to make up during the Bengals’ win over the Bills last Sunday night.
Chase fell backwards trying to catch the ball.
He had just four catches for 41 yards against the Bills, but he currently leads the team with 64 catches for 697 yards and four touchdowns in eight games.
There are no replacements for Chase and Higgins, but the Bengals have a backup plan in case they have to play without either player on Sunday, and in that case, it could very well be Higgins.
Joe Burrow would still have Tyler Boyd, the team’s veteran wideout who has caught a touchdown in two of the team’s last three games.
The Bengals also have rookie wideout Andrei Iosivas, fellow wideout Trenton Irwin and the tight end trio of Irv Smith Jr.
, Drew Sample and Tanner Hudson who caught a combined 10 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills.
