Nottingham Forest fans asked if they’d like to see Newcastle signs

Liverpool have completed the signing of forward Natasha Flint on a free transfer following her release by former club Leicester City

Flint spent three seasons with Leicester City in which she scored 25 goals in 63 appearances for the club in all competitions. The forward scored 17 of her goals as The Foxes won the Barclays Women’s Championship title in 2020/2021. Flint struggled for game time with Leicester City in the first half of last season and she joined Scottish giants Celtic on loan in January.

Celtic boss Fran Alonso wanted to sign Flint on a permanent basis this summer but it is Liverpool who have won the race to secure the player’s services.

After signing on with The Reds, Flint said “It feels amazing, no other words, I’m really looking forward to it.

“Hopefully, I can bring here what I had at Leicester and hopefully bring some goals. I think my time at Celtic has developed me massively and speaking to Matt (Beard), he thinks I can do that even more here which I think so too.”

Flint is Liverpool’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United are reportedly ‘leading the race’ to sign Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes this summer, but face competition from three other Premier League clubs.

Academy graduate Barnes is expected to leave the club this summer after relegation to the Championship last season. He could become the second big sale of the window following James Maddison’s £40 million move to Tottenham last week.

Aston Villa and West Ham as well as Spurs have been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old this summer, but it seems that there is now a frontrunner for his signature.

According to the Guardian , Newcastle are ‘leading the race’ to sign the winger. Eddie Howe is keen to sign a new left-winger with Barnes becoming a target.

Reports earlier in the week suggested that Newcastle had reignited their interest following the £55m capture of midfielder Celtic boss Fran Alonso wanted to sign Flint on a permanent basis this summer but it is Liverpool who have won the race to secure the player’s services.from AC Milan. But it was said that City’s asking price could be an ‘issue’ for the interested clubs, especially Newcastle who are conscious of FFP.

The report adds that City were looking for a price of £50 million for Barnes two months ago, but relegation may now have seen that drop. City could still however be looking for a fee similar to that that they got for Maddison, especially because the winger has two years remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
