Nico Collins: Will he be available for Houston Texans vs Cincinnati Bengals?
NEW DELHI: Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins, a favorite target of quarterback C. J. Stroud, was sidelined in the team’s Week 10 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a calf injury. Collins, known for his dynamic offensive contributions, was unable to shake off the lingering calf issue, leading to his absence in the game.
As per ESPN reports, Nico Collins is now listed as questionable for the upcoming Week 11 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Despite starting Week 10 preparations as a limited participant, Collins’ status worsened as the week progressed, ultimately leading to his formal exclusion from the Bengals game.
Although the Texans secured an impressive 30-27 victory without Collins, his absence was notable. In Week 9, Collins sustained the calf injury during the Texans’ win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, affecting his performance. Limited in training sessions last week, he was officially ruled out after regression in participation.
The young receiver was seen moving gingerly in the locker room after yesterday’s practice, causing concern for the team. Higgins is coming off his best game all season against the Buffalo Bills, where he was able to amount to 110 receiving yards on eight catches in the Bengals’ 24-18 win.
Higgins is not the only receiver who has been dealing with an injury either. Earlier this week, star receiver Ja’Marr Chase said that he has been dealing with a back injury that has made him a limited participant in practice this week. The good news for Chase is that he was able to suit up today, but he continues to be questionable as far as his status for this week’s matchup.
So far this season, Higgins has gone for 328 receiving yards and just two touchdowns. Cincinnati has had some unusual struggles from their offense this season, however, it seems like they are starting to figure out a rhythm as they have won their last four games. As for Higgins, he is coming off his best game this year, so this injury will certainly hurt his momentum going forward.
The Bengals are currently sitting at a 5-3 record and are in a three-way tie in the highly competitive AFC North. They will face off against a surprisingly good Texans team this week, and if both of their star receivers are not available this week, the result can go against their favor.
