Injury status of Hughes, Whatmough and McCann after Preston North End’s loss to Ipswich Town PNE were without several key players in their 4-2 defeat to Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.
Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe has provided an update on his side’s absence following Saturday’s 4-2 loss to Ipswich Town.
The Lilywhites manager has made four changes for the game against Portman Road: Ali McCann was left out of the match-day squad after featuring in midweek’s game against Leicester City.
Andrew Hughes continues to be sidelined with a calf problem, while Jordan Storey did not feature this week due to illness.
Ali McCann had a problem on Wednesday night and Jack Whatmough had a hamstring complaint,” Lowe said.
“We had to change something again, but there are no excuses.
In my opinion, we have good players and a good team.
This is who we are and should be a place where everyone can participate and work.
(Jordan Storey) is still not feeling well.
We were hoping to bring him here, but we actually didn’t have to.
“It would be unfair if we were thinking of using him.
But if you have good players who are playing well for you, you want to have them in and around your team.
That’s not disrespectful to the players who came in.
I think they did a good job.
But there are no excuses, whether it’s injury or illness – we just didn’t get there and we gave up a good goal to a good team.
”He is feeling well and will be back next week.
, will learn the full extent of his setback after speaking to the club’s physiotherapist, Matt Jackson.
Advertisement “Me and Jaco are going to go through it on Monday,” Lowe said.
“It’s a little complicated, so it could take weeks, 10 days, or even a week.
We are waiting to find out if he is due a PRP – which is an injection to help the healing.
We will probably know a bit more next week on how long it’s going to be.
Hopefully it is not too long.
