Bradford Bulls center ready for ‘big comeback’ after injury Young Bulls center Jaeden Myers missed last season due to injury despite a huge effort to bring the team into the fold.
He admits it was “tough” to miss the end of the Betfred Championship play-off semi-final.
But after just a few days working under new head coach Eamonn O’Carroll, he already has high hopes for the 2024 team.
Bradford returned to pre-season training on Monday and Myers said: “The return day was good and I felt pretty comfortable fitness-wise, but it was still obviously difficult.
“It was good to get everyone together and see where we stood.
“However, I had already had a team meeting with Eamonn on Friday where we all talked a little bit about how we were doing in the ‘last win’ game of the season, what went well and what Can it be improved?
” “For him to be able to do that on Friday shows the level of coach Eamonn, who knows what the players need.
It wouldn’t have been great to have everyone meet for the first time and then get whipped in training, but instead we’re all healthy already.

) He reflected: “If I had walked, I would have been able to run again, and it’s a shame that it happened.
” “One of my main goals was to help make the playoffs.
I wish I could have done that.
”I really wanted to win, just to be there.
“It wasn’t the best end to the season as I was trying to make a name for myself at this level and I didn’t want people to think I wasn’t up to the physical challenges.
” Championship Rugby League.
“Honestly, my calf just broke in this game, and it wasn’t from contact.
” “Now it’s about making a big comeback.
” Like the Bulls are doing.
, a comeback should happen soon.
Their first preseason game was scheduled for Christmas Eve at home against Halifax.
Myers said: “Everyone is excited about the derby.
“Eamonn and the coaches have given a few boys my age a chance to play this game, just like I did last year.
We’re giving them the opportunity to train with the first team in pre-season, and they know that.
” They might be in the stands on Christmas Eve to play.
“I think it’s good to play this game so early because it allows us to adapt to the game faster and potentially give us an advantage over other teams at the beginning of the season.
” That’s definitely a good thing.
We want to win the game, but really it’s the opening game so it’s important to see the level of all of us.
