“First and foremost, I would like to thank my Lord and savior Jesus Christ for walking with me on this journey,” Correll said in a statement. “Thank you to my teammates who have gone to battle with me and upheld the Notre Dame standard. The people are what make this place special, and my last 5 years have been nothing short of a blessing.”

“That being said, I am looking for a new opportunity in my final season of eligibility and am entering my name in the transfer portal. Love Thee”

Prior to that he was a steady rock up the middle of the Irish offensive line. His performance in the spring and summer resulted in the Notre Dame coaches moving long-time starting center Jarrett Patterson to guard. Correll struggled early in 2022, but once he got rolling he was a key to the strong second half performance of the Irish offensive line.

Correll started four games at guard at the beginning of the 2021 season and also made two starts after Patterson was injured late in the 2020 season. That includes the College Football Playoff matchup against Alabama.

With Correll out, sophomore Ashton Craig stepped into the lineup and he shined, which helps ease the transition to a new center heading into the bowl season and offseason.
