BREAKING: Oklahoma Football Officially Declares Massive Coaching Change; Sooners Announce Co-Offensive Coordinators – Week 14
The Oklahoma football program made a known program-defining coaching change official on Wednesday. Per the Oklahoma Sooners’ official Twitter page (also known as X), the team announced Seth Littrell and Joe Jon Finley as their offensive coordinators.
The Sooners needed to replace former offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby after the Mississippi State Bulldogs poached him to fill their head coaching void. Lebby held the OC position with Oklahoma for the past two seasons.
Littrell joined Oklahoma football last March as an offensive analyst. The Oklahoma alum was the head coach at North Texas from 2016-2022 before his return to Norman. He posted a 44-44 record with the Mean Green as the frontman. North Texas put up gaudy offensive numbers under Littrell from 2017-2019, with quarterback Mason Fine throwing 86 touchdowns during that span. Additionally, North Texas scored 33.8 points per game in his final season as the bench boss.
Littrell worked as an offensive coordinator with three schools from 2010 to 2015. He worked with Nick Foles at the University of Arizona from 2010 to 2011 and Nate Sudfeld with the Indiana Hoosiers from 2012 to 2013. He also called plays at North Carolina from 2014 to 2015 while helping to lead them to an ACC Coastal Division title in his final year.
