Aric Gilbert is in trouble again after being charged with theft for the second time since late August.
A Nebraska tight end was arrested Friday on charges of robbery and interfering with police.
The arrest was made in Lumpkin County, Georgia, about 110 miles north of Gilbert’s hometown, but no further information was provided.
He was also arrested on suspicion of theft in the early morning hours of August 29th.
Officers were dispatched to the liquor and e-cigarette store just before 2 a.m.
for the first robbery.
Police said they found a broken glass door in the parking lot with a large chunk of cement in it and saw Gilbert carrying a bag and walking toward the exit.
The total amount stolen was approximately $1,700.
At the time of the first arrest, head coach Matt Rhule said the 21-year-old sophomore was having personal issues.

“I was really proud of the work he did over the spring and summer, but to be honest, he had some issues during camp, and he does.
” “I worked hard to overcome them.
I’ve been working on it,” Rhule said.
“We have great people here trying to help him, and obviously that was what happened last night.
” It’s a disappointment for him, his family and of course the management, and we’ll have to deal with that over the next two seasons.
He also played one year at LSU.
Gilbert was a five-star recruit, a top-ranked tight end prospect and was named the 2019 Gatorade National Player of the Year.
He was named to the SEC Freshman Team after he caught 35 passes for 368 yards.
He transferred to Georgia State and sat out the 2021 season.
He appeared in three games last season with the Bulldogs en route to their second straight championship.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for arrest records.
