The Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the Michigan Wolverines for the third straight year. It is safe to say a lot of the faithful fan base is not happy with head coach Ryan Day. Ohio State legend Maurice Clarett began the day defending the coach but his tune changed very quickly.

Before the game, Clarett tweeted out that he believed in Day and was ready to go. A mere two hours later, he was calling for him to be canned. Clarett recognized that Day has won a lot of games but it is this game that matters.

“Love you bro but gotta go. This is why you’re paid millions. Can’t get paid 9’ms and lose 3 straight.”

Clarett is actually being respectful. Many of the Buckeyes faithful are calling for a change. Ohio State had dominated Michigan for so many years that losing three straight is uncharted territory for the fan base. The previous head coaches had so much success against Michigan that this has become the norm.

It seems unfathomable to move on from a coach who has the record that Day does. He is 56-7 as a head coach though it is worth noting that many of these wins are against the bottom feeders of the Big Ten. When the biggest matchups happen he has not come out on top most of the time. Many of the seven losses are to Michigan and other high-profile programs. It would not shock me if Ohio State at least makes some quiet calls to see who might be available.
