Keown Koloamatangi Injury Update South Sydney Rabbitohs will be without star striker Keown Koloamatangi for an extended period of time after sustaining an injury on Thursday night.
He suffered syndesmosis during a tackle against the Dolphins, which was a big blow to the club.
He has since been spotted wearing moon boots at the Rabbitohs Center of Excellence in Maroubra on Sunday mornings.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Koloamatangi is expected to miss six to eight games, but could be out for an even longer period if he undergoes surgery.
The injury also means his hopes of making his home debut with the New South Wales Blues are dashed if he does not recover in time.
Blues manager Brad Fittler had previously stated that he had great respect for the striker and that it was expected he could fill one of the four substitute slots.
Jay Arrow or Jed Cartwright are expected to fill the vacant back row position during the Tonga international’s absence.
This means that Michael Chee Kam will most likely join the team on the bench.
The Rabbitohs play Penrith Panthers on Thursday night, that’s for sure.
