Deion Sanders blasted by former Colorado player Eoghan Kerry
The college football offseason has been a roller coaster for Colorado coach Deion Sanders just two weeks in.
From player decommits to coaches leaving for other jobs, the media attention is at an all-time high for the Buffaloes. Sanders continued to dominate the headlines this week, but not in the way they had hoped.
Former Colorado linebacker Eoghan Kerry went on Jason Whitlock’s show “Fearless” and talked about his experience with Sanders before he eventually left the program last Spring.
“I thought he was going to come in and mentor me and kind of take me under his wing because he wanted to see people like me who grew up with their mom and are of African-American descent excel,” Kerry said. “And then to be ignored and eventually dismissed hurt.”
Kerry left after going through spring ball in June. Colorado had the highest amount of turnover in college football last season as Sanders forced out many of Colorado’s 2022 roster in favor of players he brought in through the transfer portal.
During Monday’s show, Kerry detailed his experience getting pushed out by Sanders. According to Kerry, he was one of several players brought into a meeting where they were going to be informed that they were no longer wanted on the team.
When Kerry was called for his meeting, Sanders, linebackers coach Andre Hart and former Colorado quarterback Kordell Stewart informed Kerry that he would no longer have a spot on the Buffaloes’ roster.
Kerry said he was heartbroken, but went to shake the hands of all three men. That’s when he said he felt disrespected by Sanders.
