Bears Injury Report: Running backs miss practice yet again
The Chicago Bears have released their latest injury report for Week 6 following Thursday’s practice, with a whopping 12 players listed after the second day of practice.
The real headline for the Bears is that the team’s top three running backs all did not practice for the second straight day.
Khalil Herbert (ankle), Roschon Johnson (concussion), and Travis Homer (hamstring) are now all trending towards missing Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Running backs D’Onta Foreman, and familiar face Darrynton Evans, are expected to carry the load if the team’s top three backs are ruled out.
Here’s the rest of the full injury report that the team sent out on Thursday:
Wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown also missed his second day of practice as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Rookie wide receiver Tyler Scott is expected to have a larger role on offense in three WR sets if St. Brown doesn’t suit up.
The good news for Chicago is that the secondary looks to be as close to full potential as they possibly could be against the Vikings. It couldn’t come at a better time, considering the Vikings will be without their star playmaker, Justin Jefferson.
Cornerback Kyler Gordon, whom the team designated to return from the injured reserved with a broken hand this week, practiced in a limited capacity during the first two days, along with safety Eddie Jackson. Having those two back in the secondary will be a major boost for the Bears defense.
Fellow cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Terell Smith returned to practice at full capacity after being listed as limited on Wednesday. Smith has been exceptional as of late, filling in as a starter for the Bears as they’ve dealt with a few injuries.
