Arsenal interested in two talented players said to be centre-back targets, journalists claim

Journalist Dean Jones has said that Arsenal are eyeing moves for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba, who are both rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

A lot has been said and written about Tottenham’s pursuit of a left-sided centre-back over the past few weeks, with Tapsoba thought to be near the top of the club’s wishlist.

In fact, Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday morning that the Leverkusen star remains Spurs’ top centre-back target ahead of Wolfsburg’s, with Ange Postecolgou’s men alleged to be continuing talks over a deal for the 24-year-old.

Meanwhile, Guehi also continues to be linked with a move to Spurs, with London World claiming on Wednesday that Palace had put a £60m price tag on the defender amidst interest from Tottenham.

The report added that the England international ‘ticks a lot of boxes’ for the Lilywhites, being young, homegrown and proven in the Premier League.

Spurs and Arsenal looking at Tapsoba and Guehi

However, Jones has now asserted that both Guehi and Tapsoba are also on Mikel Arteta’s wishlist.

The journalist wrote in his column for GiveMeSport about Arsenal: “Across the back line they have also shown a fondness for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba, RB Leipzig’s Mohamed Simakan and – to a lesser degree – Perr Schuurs at Torino.”

,,suprised,,Aston Villa want to sign an exceptional £35m star

It is quite clear at the moment that Arsenal’s top centre-back target is Jurrien Timber and their efforts are focused on getting a deal for the Ajax star over the line.

So, I do not think Spurs would need to worry too much about competition from their North London rivals for Tapsoba or Guehi.

WHAT A shock to me’ – a young talented striker breaks silence after making Everton transfer

Football’s romantic rendezvous can take surprising turns. In such a twist, the tale of Crystal Palace’s talismanic forward, Wilfried Zaha, now hangs in the balance. His decision, expected to materialise post-honeymoon, will chart his footballing journey ahead. The Eagles’ talons remain firmly crossed, hoping Zaha puts pen to paper for a bountiful four-year contract, worth £10m per season. In stark contrast, overseas clubs lie in wait, their offers eagerly awaiting Zaha’s appraisal report The Guardian.

Global Sirens Call

The recent days have seen Zaha’s representatives engaged in discussions with Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain, and Galatasaray. He’s already been approached by Lazio, Fenerbahce and Al-Nassr with contracts. The most lavish of these, a £30m per season offer from the Saudi Pro-League, is anticipated to be declined by the 30-year-old. Nevertheless, potential transitions to Italy or Turkey hang in the balance, notwithstanding their salary being a shade lighter than that tabled by Selhurst Park.

The Palace Proposition

In the shadow of the managerial switch at Palace last October, Zaha was extended a deal valued at £200,000 a week. This proposition makes him the potential highest earner in the club’s history. His past contract expired last week, just a few days after the reappointment of Roy Hodgson, who had masterminded Palace’s survival after re-joining the club last March.

Despite Zaha utilising the club’s facilities for hamstring injury recovery, no word has been exchanged with Hodgson, sporting director Dougie Freedman, or chairman Steve Parish. His central role in securing Palace’s Premier League spot for an unbroken decade requires a robust vision for the club’s future and a possible European contention if the South London side hopes to keep hi

Loyalty Versus Ambition

Zaha’s loyalty to the club where he blossomed into a top-flight player is evident. Expected family discussions over his plans might illuminate his intentions. In addition, his recent venture into part-ownership of AFC Croydon Athletic with Stormzy hints at a rooted local attachment.

Hodgson’s ambitions to crack the top half next season ended with an 11th place finish in the last campaign. His task of preserving the young and promising squad seems colossal. The situation with Eberechi Eze, recent England debutant, and his yet-unrenewed contract adds complexity, while interest in Marc Guéhi and Joachim Andersen continues to grow.

Everton: A world-class star could follow in Calvert-Lewin’s footsteps

According to reports from The Guardian, Zaha’s decision, therefore, is more than just about his future—it’s about the destiny of Crystal Palace itself.
