Browns Injury Report: Six players out for Browns as they begin preparation for Ravens

Week 10 is not off to a good start for the Cleveland Browns when it comes to the injury report. It is not pretty.

The following players aren’t practicing on Wednesday; CB Greg Newsome (groin), OT Dawand Jones (knee/shoulder), TE David Njoku (knee), RB Pierre Strong (hamstring), WR David Bell (knee), Marquise Goodwin (concussion).

Out of these players, Newsome and Bell did not play in Week 9 against the Cardinals. It is too early to tell if they’ll be ready for the Ravens.

Most worrisome for the Browns has to be the rookie right tackle. If Jones is not able to go, Cleveland will be starting a backup at both tackle spots. Jedrick Wills Jr. is out for at least four weeks on the injured reserve with an MCL injury. James Hudson is practicing at right tackle but could play either position

“We have options. We’re going to go through all those options this week,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said of the left tackle position.0

Cleveland placed rookie CB Cameron Mitchell on the injured reserve so they badly need Newsome back out there in the slot. If it is not Newsome, then the expectation is it’ll be Mike Ford.

Goodwin entered the concussion protocol after hitting his head off the ground in Week 9, it’s too early to tell if he will be cleared by Sunday. Njoku has typically had a day off per week lately, so this may be rest more than anything.

If Strong can not be out there Sunday, the Browns could look to bring up Kenyan Drake from the practice squad.

It is early in the week, but the Browns have six players out currently. It’ll be something to monitor over the next couple of days.
