Injury Report for the Jazz-Pelicans: Simone Fontecchio Update
The Utah Jazz will take on the New Orleans Pelicans in an attempt to make it four straight.
The Utah Jazz will play the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night to wrap out their five-game road trip. Before the game, one or more important players on both teams may be absent.
For the Jazz, Simone Fontecchio is rated as dubious. Larry Nance Jr. (ribs) of the Pelicans is classified as questionable.
The Jazz seem to have turned their season around for the time being. Utah has triumphed in six of the last eight games, three of which were away from home.
Although having a healthy squad has undoubtedly aided, Utah’s shooting guard position has become more stable since shooting guard Collin Sexton was added to the starting lineup. Sexton is averaging 22.8 points while shooting an effective 50% from the field over the course of eight games.
Jordan Clarkson, a shooting guard, has returned to his accustomed position as the sixth man as a result of Sexton’s domino effect. Despite the tiny sample size, Clarkson has scored between 30 and 24 points in each of the Jazz’s last two victories since the switch.
Although Sexton’s name is often mentioned in trade rumors, the Jazz may have found a long-term solution at the two spot with his recent play. But one thing is for sure: The Jazz’s backcourt is still stuck in a log jam.
Kris Dunn was the odd man out in head coach Will Hardy’s rotation at the beginning of the season. As of right now, Dunn is the starting point guard, while Talen Horton-Tucker appears to be an outsider. Jazz fans should keep an eye on Hardy’s minute distribution in Utah’s backcourt going ahead.
