Emyr Huws of Ipswich Town declares his retirement from football
Emyr Huws, a former Town midfielder, has declared his 30 year football retirement.
Huws came to the Blues in January 2017 on loan from Cardiff City. He later scored a spectacular goal at Portman Road against Newcastle United and a late winner at Aston Villa.
After that, the Welshman joined the team permanently, signing a four-year contract with great fanfare. However, injuries plagued the Welshman during his tenure at Town, as he only made 55 appearances and scored five goals.
After leaving the Blues in the summer of 2021, he signed with Colchester United. However, he only made 19 appearances due to additional injuries, and at the conclusion of the 2022–2023 season, he was released.
