Bryan Ruiz, a former star for Fulham, was called to Manchester united to get coaching experience.
After a fantastic career that saw him play in Europe for teams like Fulham, Sporting, FC Twente, and Gent and earn 147 caps for his nation, the 38-year-old retired from competition last year.
He first got to know Steve McClaren at Twente, and the two unexpectedly won the Eredivisie title together in 2010.
Currently serving as a coach at Manchester United, McClaren and his manager Erik ten Hag have sent an invitation to Ruiz to visit the team in order to gauge his interest in transitioning into coaching. Ruiz began and concluded his playing career at Costa Rican team Alajuelense.
I maintain my fitness. Ruiz stated to the Dutch daily De Telegraaf. I play padel, tennis, and the gym.
I took an entire six months off when I stopped, spending all of my time with my family. I recently began working as a trainer for Deportivo Alajuelense’s U17 team.
To determine whether I enjoy being a trainer enough and if I am good at it. I now have an invitation to visit Manchester United and see Steve McClaren and Erik ten Hag. Those are enjoyable activities.
Between 2005 and 2022, Ruiz represented his nation, scoring in both his debut year and his final season to bring his total for Costa Rica to 29 goals.
Before leaving for Sporting in 2015, he spent four years with Fulham, where he scored some memorable goals despite occasional doubts about his dedication and effort.
