Liverpool and Crystal Palace, rivals of West Ham United this season in the Premier League

West Ham United are interested in signing 23-year-old Torino defender Perr Schuurs, a target for Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

According to a report from Tuttosport, West Ham United are looking to improve their defensive options by signing 23-year-old Torino defender Perr Schuurs. Liverpool and Crystal Palace have also shown interest in him.

Schuurs joined Torino at the start of last season, and he has been quite impressive for the Serie A club. It is no surprise that West Ham are looking to sign him this summer. They are likely to face competition from clubs like Crystal Palace and Liverpool. All three Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the Dutch defender. So it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

West Ham were quite vulnerable defensively last season, and they conceded 55 goals in the Premier League. They will have to tighten up at the back if they want to do well in the league and in the UEFA Europa League.

The Hammers need to sign a quality defender in order to strengthen their backline, and Schuurs could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition. The 23-year-old is highly talented, and he has the potential to develop into a top-class Premier League defender.

Similarly, Crystal Palace need defensive reinforcements as well, and the Dutchman could prove to be a solid long-term investment. As far as Liverpool are concerned, players like Joel Matip and Joe Gomez were hugely underwhelming last season, and Liverpool need to bring in upgrades on both players.

They have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including Schuurs. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can beat West Ham and Crystal Palace to his signature. The Reds certainly have the financial resources and the pull to convince the defender to join them.

The presence of Virgil van Dijk at Anfield could further enhance Liverpool’s chances of luring his compatriot to the club. The 23-year-old is a prodigious young talent with a big future ahead of him, and whoever ends up signing him will have a future star on their handS

West Ham have all-but confirmed Declan Rice’s move to Arsenal after they dropped a clue on the club website.

Rice, 24, is on the verge of completing a club-record £105 million move to the Emirates after passing his medical on Friday.

He is set to become the Gunners’ second signing of the summer following Kai Havertz £65m move from Chelsea last month.

Arsenal are also closing in on a deal for Jurrien Timber, who also passed a medical at London Colney ahead of his prospective £40m move from Ajax

Meanwhile, confirmation of Rice’s own move to north London may have been leaked by the cub’s presenter Nicole Holliday after she supposedly spotted the midfielder at the airport.

“Ok, I’m either going mad/need an eye test or I just saw Declan Rice at the airport,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

“Was going to go and intro myself coz ya know, we’ll be working together next season, but got scared loool.”

And West Ham have since added fuel to speculation that a deal is complete

Jurrien Timber’s brother Quinten has been spotted in London as Arsenal look to finalise a deal for the Ajax star.

On Wednesday Arsenal reached an agreement to sign Timber from Ajax.

The Gunners will reportedly pay an initial £34.2million for the Netherlands international, plus a further £4.3million in performance-related add-ons.

Timber who came through Ajax’s academy and made 160 senior appearances for the club, is expected to have his medical in the next 72 hours and finalise personal terms.

The 22-year-old has been a long-term target for Arsenal and is set to become their third summer signing, following the arrivals of Kai Havertz and West Ham’s Declan Rice

Arsenal presenter ‘confirms’ Rice signing

Confirmation of Rice’s own move to Arsenal may have also been leaked ahead of an official announcement.

That’s after club presenter Nicole Holliday took to social media over the weekend, posting the following update on her Instagram story.

“Ok, I’m either going mad/need an eye test or I just saw Declan Rice at the airport,” she wrote.

“Was going to go and intro myself coz ya know, we’ll be working together next season, but got scared loool.”

Rice may have been at the airport to travel back on holiday after completing his medical with Arsenal.

He cut his summer break short to return to London to complete the final stages of his transfer from West Ham.

While he is expected to officially join Arsenal this week, he may have to wait to meet his new teammates – with the majority of Arsenal’s squad away in Germany on a pre-season camp.

Those players who were not involved in the June internationals travelled to Germany on Friday ahead of their opening warm-up match against Nurnberg on Thursday.

The squad will then return to London, where Rice and Timber could join up with them ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States.

Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle with West Ham to sign midfielder Declan Rice, it has been reported.

The Gunners launched a bid worth £105 million for the 24-year-old, who lifted the Europa Conference League earlier this month, on Tuesday.

Then, on Wednesday, it was revealed that Manchester City, who were rivalling the Gunners for Rice’s signature, had pulled out of the battle to sign the Hammers captain.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal now appear to be nearing the finish line in the battle

They are said to have agreed a deal in principle with the Hammers for an initial transfer fee of £100 million, plus £5 million in add-ons.

Rice deal ‘agreed’, transfer details revealed

The report claims Arsenal proposed that the guaranteed £100 million portion of the fee would be paid across four years.

West Ham, however, want the fee paid over two years instead, with the clubs said to be in advanced talks over ironing out this part of the deal.

But this issue has been described as ‘minor’, with the deal not at risk of falling through as a result on that particular point.

Arsenal fans will be delighted at news that an agreement has been reached between the Gunners and West Ham, with tension growing in recent weeks as City entered the race.

The Mail claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side were not prepared to match Arsenal’s £105 million bid for Rice, having seen a previous bid worth £90 million rejected by the reigning Europa Conference League trophy holders.

The Gunners’ interest in Rice dates back to January, with reports in May claiming that manager Mikel Arteta was keen to get a deal done quickly after the end of the campaign.

Should a deal for the 24-year-old be finalised, he is set to be joined at the Emirates Stadium by Chelsea star Kai Havertz.

The Germany international is on the verge of sealing a £65 million move to Arsenal, although the move is yet to be officially announced by the club.

According to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth, the Gunners are also in advanced talks to sign Netherlands international centre-back Jurrien Timber from Ajax.

Major breakthrough in Declan Rice transfer saga as Arsenal and West Ham ‘reach compromise’

Arsenal have reportedly ‘reached a compromise’ with West Ham over a transfer for Declan Rice amid concerns over the financial structure of the deal.

Rice, 24, has long been rumoured with a move to the Emirates after Mikel Arteta made him the club’s priority transfer target this summer.

And the England international now looks set to become the Gunners’ second signing of the transfer window after they agreed a £105 million fee with West Ham, which includes £5m in performance-related add-ons.

The England international would follow in the footsteps of Kai Havertz, who completed his £65m move from Chelsea last Wednesday.
