Breaking Oklahoma transfer RB commits to the Badgers

The Badgers are adding to their running back depth. Tawee Walker, a transfer running back from the Oklahoma Sooners, committed to the Wisconsin Badgers, the team announced on Friday.

Together with redshirt freshman Gavin Sawchuck, Walker, a junior, shared time on the ground in 2023, rushing for 513 yards with seven touchdowns on five yards per run.Gavin Sawchuk (@G27football) / X

Walker, a 5’9, 215-pound running back, is a second-time transfer. He first went to Oklahoma after attending Palomar Junior College, and he is now a Wisconsin Wildcat.

Walker returns to the Badgers’ rebuilt running back unit, which saw the loss of star back Braelon Allen but the return of Chez Mellusi after he sustained a season-ending injury in Week 4.

The Badgers also have a strong recruiting class for 2024 at running back, with recruits Darrion Dupree, Dilin Jones, and Gideon Ituka all scheduled to enroll.

Walker increases the depth of the group and may be ready to challenge right away for a position on the two-deep at running back.
