Steve Kerr addresses Andre Iguodala retirement
Andre Iguodala declared his retirement on October 20. Iguodala contributed four NBA titles to the Golden State Warriors’ victory. He was a member of the Golden State for eight years, from 2013 to 2019 and again in 2021 and 2023. With Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green as the All-Star core, Iguodala was the ideal three-and-d wing.
In regards to Iguodala’s career, particularly his tenure with the Warriors, Steve Kerr has offered his opinions. The head coach of Golden State stated that the departing forward was “one of the main reasons” why his team won four championships. Kerr also gave Iguodala credit for sacrificing by taking a bench position in order to benefit the team. Before his team’s preseason loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Kerr stated, “He’s one of the main reasons we have those four banners hanging up.
” “He played a pivotal role in one of the greatest runs in NBA history. Andre actually set the tone for the entire event in 2014–15 when he decided to come off the bench, making the sacrifice that opened the door for the team.In addition to strengthening our bench and enabling Harrison Barnes to flourish, it also established an example of selflessness and teamwork.
Andre was rewarded for his efforts with a championship and Finals MVP when we started him again.Iguodala is probably going to devote more of his attention to his podcast, “Point Forward,” co-hosted with Evan Turner. Iguodala might also occasionally appear in the media. The four-time NBA champion will surely be successful in whatever he does next after an amazing 19-year NBA
career.Iguodala won’t be in the rotation for the first time in the Curry era if the Warriors win the NBA championship in 2024. That is the magnitude of his contributions.
