After missing two games due to injuries sustained from a dog bite on Christmas, Aaron Gordon returned to the Nuggets for practice on Sunday. Gordon stated to The Denver Post that he is prepared to play when the Nuggets play the Hornets on Monday.
According to a league source, Gordon will decide whether or not to play against Charlotte, and the team feels confident in letting him if he’s ready.
The canine that bit Gordon was his Rottweiler, which he got when the dog was six weeks old, around four years ago, according to Gordon. He has family take care of his pet because he doesn’t get to spend much time with it during the NBA season due to travel obligations. Gordon is thinking that it might
“I adore canines. I’ve lived my entire life among dogs,” Gordon remarked. “However, my dad is taking care of him because we travel a lot, so I can’t truly train him the way I need him to be. .. However, I feel OK. Everything is alright.
Despite having 21 stitches from the injury, most of which were on his right shooting hand, Gordon seemed happy to be back at practice. He added that he had seen humorous dog bite-related memes on social media and thanked everyone who had sent him well wishes while he was away from the squad. Gordon had scars close to his lip as well.
“I’m not new to playing with stitches in my hand; I’ve done that before,” he remarked.
When his hand pain subsided, he knew he was ready to resume his basketball activity.
The Nuggets’ coach, Michael Malone, stated, “I’ll talk to him in a little bit here just to see how it felt at practice today, catching the ball, shooting the ball.” On his right hand, that is.
Thus, there will be a conversation on how at ease he is playing outside. But today, he looked great. I believe that returning to the gym was a terrific experience for him. And guys often say that the thing they miss the most about being away from the team is the camaraderie we all have in the locker room. According to his explanation on Sunday, the bite was only an unfortunate accident that was primarily his own fault.
He remarked, “I guess it’s a little embarrassing, but not so embarrassing that I can’t talk about it.” “During the season, I don’t drink a lot. I think I may have consumed a touch too much eggnog. My dog and I were playing rough, and I believe that my dog became a bit agitated and chomped down. gave me a taste. He nipped my hand as I was essentially wresting him away from me.
