Due to a hip ailment that required surgery, Thiago was unable to play in the last weeks of the 2022–2023 season and is still inactive. Bajcetic has likewise been absent for most of the current campaign.

On January 25, Jürgen Klopp said, “With Trent, is it Norwich already, or is it the game after? We must observe. He wasn’t even a part of team training yet, so I’ll have to decide whether or not to let him in tomorrow.”

The youthful striker is not playing because of a knee injury he sustained while playing for the Reds’ U21 team.

On December 19, Lijnders said: “It’s not a very good one. He tore his meniscus on the side, requiring surgery. That one is going to take more time. He is young, physically fit, and optimistic, so it is likely that he will return stronger. However, we need him to return with the same intensity and passion that he did when he was playing the ball. We’ll wait for him even if he needs some time.”

The center-back suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury on December 3 during a challenge during Liverpool’s victory over Fulham in the second half.

Matip subsequently had a successful operation, and there is no set timeframe for his recuperation; he will continue his therapy at the AXA Training Center.

On January 24, the left-back made his matchday squad debut at Fulham, his first since he had surgery on the shoulder he had injured playing for Scotland in October.

Klopp said on January 25: “Robbo is physically ready and I think it was good to have him in the matchday squad, and he’s completely in the normal team training schedule.”

Mohamed Salah

After suffering a muscular injury while playing for Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, the forward made his way back to the AXA Training Centre on January 24 to start an intense rehabilitation plan with Liverpool’s medical staff.

Upon his return to Merseyside, Salah started working with the team’s medical staff right away in an effort to get back into action as soon as possible.
