The Denver Nuggets will have Jokic vs. the Toronto Raptors
On Wednesday night, the Denver Nuggets kick off a three-game road trip against the Raptors, starting in Toronto. The injury report for this game was provided by Denver, and star center Nikola Jokic is not on it, so he is cleared to play.
Denver is thrilled that Jokic’s standout team
mate Jamal Murray is also unlisted. Although Murray has had some injuries this season, most notably to his ankle and hamstring, he appears to be healthy right now.
The Nuggets trail the first-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves by just 3.5 games going into this game, while they trail the second-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder by just 0.5 games. With a record of 11-15 on the season and a tie for 10th place in the Eastern Conference, the Raptors are in a very different position.
Even though they’re always in the mix, Toronto hasn’t really been a contender since Kawhi Leonard left. This season, the Raptors have struggled, but they are still one game above. The Nuggets are one game below.500 away from home, while they are.500 at home. Denver should be able to win this game, but it’s worth keeping a watch on that intriguing trend.
Even though Jokic hasn’t been playing at his best lately, the Nuggets can still win games without him. This is largely related to the attention he demands offensively, which is also something to consider in terms of Toronto’s guarding strategy.
