(CNN) — LeBron James, the superstar of the NBA, may have turned 39 recently, but he appears unconcerned about how his advanced age may be affecting him in his later years.
The 20-time All-Star told CNN Sport’s Andy Scholes that he “[doesn’t] really get involved” in thinking about his advanced age.
“When I’m healthy enough to go out there and play, I just try to perform at a high level, help my teammates, do great things on the floor, try to be productive,” James continued.
“And to be happy with the way I approach the game, win, lose, or draw. I can only ask for it for myself.
James played more minutes than any other player in the game against the Hawks at State Farm Arena, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.
The Lakers have had difficulty staying consistent this season, and on Tuesday they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of a squad that had only triumphed once in their previous five games.
Due to an injury that kept Anthony Davis out of the game, LA struggled defensively and fell behind the Hawks for the majority of the game after giving them 36 points in the first and third quarters.
