Oklahoma Makes Three More Quarterback Offers in 2026 Recruiting Class on Sunday
The Sooners extended offers to six additional high school prospects this week, including three sophomore signal callers, following a hectic period on the recruiting road.
Since Oklahoma’s 2024 recruiting class is entirely signed and the transfer portal window is essentially closed, Brent Venables and team have been concentrating on the next cycles over the past month.
Over the past few weeks, the Sooners have given offers to a large number of high school talents; just last Sunday, they have added six additional exceptional recruits.
Seth Littrell and the offensive staff of Oklahoma, most notably, offered three sophomore quarterbacks this week: Noah Grubbs, a 4-star prospect from Lake Mary, Florida; Jaden O’Neal, a standout from Newport Harbor, California; and Dereon Coleman, a quarterback from Jones, Florida.
Grubbs, who is listed as 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, is ranked by Rivals as the No. 32 overall prospect and the third quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. Grubbs, a 4-star recruit, has had over 20 offers from universities, including Michigan, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, and Penn State.
Grubbs, a baseball player as well, has already visited several of the previously mentioned programs in addition to Miami and Florida.
This week, Coleman, a resident of the Sunshine State, accepted an offer from Oklahoma.
At 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds, the Jones, Florida, standout has drawn interest from over 15 colleges nationwide and has also gotten a sizable number of offers.
It seems that Littrell and the Sooners are presently in the lead for Coleman, despite offers from Nebraska, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas A&M, and other schools. Rivals reporter Parker Thune made an official prediction that the sophomore signal caller would end up in Norman.
With Jonathan Hatton, a 4-star running back, already in the Sooners’ 2026 recruiting class, a win over the gifted dual-threat quarterback would be a major boost.
Trever Jackson, a 4-star 2024 quarterback who accepted a scholarship from OU while Jeff Lebby was still calling plays, was Coleman’s teammate at Jones High School.
Coleman also receives training from Orlando-based quarterback specialist Baylin Trujillo, who also works with Grubbs and a few other outstanding quarterbacks.
The third quarterback from 2026 to accept an offer from Littrell and colleagues this week was O’Neal, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound sophomore from Newport Beach, California.
O’Neal has received 20 offers from universities including Florida State, Washington, Oregon, Penn State, and others, despite not yet being listed by any of the major recruiting sites.
O’Neal’s arm strength is highly praised by onlookers, who point out that in addition to his stature, he can hurl long throws with remarkable velocity.
The Sooners this week extended offers to two 4-star 2026 prospects, Sam Utu and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, who are both located in California.
According to 247Sports, Utu, an offensive tackle at Orange Lutheran (CA), is ranked as the nation’s No. 6 tackle and 25th overall player. Utu, who is listed as 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds, has already drawn interest from a number of schools, including Georgia, USC, Washington, Michigan, and Texas.
Another highly sought-after prospect is Dixon-Wyatt, a 6-foot-1 wide receiver from Mater Dei (CA). Dixon-Wyatt, ranked as the 76th best player overall in the 2026 class, has offers from Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Georgia, and other states.
OU offered Cedar Grove, Georgia, sophomore wide receiver Devin Carter in the Peach State.
According to 247Sports, Carter is ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver and the No. 35 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class. A highly sought-after prospect, Carter has had offers from Florida State, USC, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and other schools.
Dexter, Devin’s father, was chosen in the first round of the 1990 NFL Draft after spending time as a running back for the Seminoles. In his debut season, Dexter Carter amassed 460 yards of rushing touchdowns for the San Francisco 49ers, a squad that went on to win a Super Bowl.
In an effort to get a head start on what will be a crucial class for OU, the Sooners coaching staff dedicated their entire attention to the 2026 recruiting class for the first time this week.
