SAD NEWS;A young super star agreement have been cancelled burnley after medicals

Soumaïla Coulibaly’s proposed move to Burnley has collapsed

Soumaïla Coulibaly’s proposed move to Burnley is said to have collapsed due to disagreements between the two clubs over the mandatory purchase clause.

It appears that Soumaïla Coulibaly will not be making the switch to Burnley after all, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the transfer has now collapsed. The highly rated defender had already completed his medical tests with the newly promoted English Premier League club. But now it looks like the two clubs are not in agreement regarding the proposed mandatory buy clause.

Multiple reports had claimed earlier this month that Borussia Dortmund and Burnley were in agreement over the transfer of Coulibaly. The 19 year old was set to move to Burnley on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy, and the Black and Yellows were due to receive a fee in the region of 17.5 million euros.

Coulibaly has mostly featured for the Borussia Dortmund U-23s since joining the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint Germain in 2021. The young centre-back has made just two first-team appearances for BVB so far, with injuries and competition for places limiting his progress.

Soumaïla Coulibaly reportedly wanted to leave Borussia Dortmund in January due to his lack of playing time in the first-team, but those in charge did not want to let him go then. He has made only one first-team appearance for the club since then – as a substitute in the 3-3 draw against VfB Stuttgart. Now with his proposed move to Burnley reportedly collapsing, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Burnley’s move for Dortmund centre-back Soumaïla Coulibaly (19) could be on the verge of collapse, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Coulibaly recently completed his medical tests with Burnley, had been poised to make a move to the Premier League after spending a short stint with Borussia Dortmund.

The young French international joined BVB in 2021, having turned down a professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain and subsequently signing a professional deal with the German club on a free transfer.

However, the deal has encountered unforeseen hurdles due to disagreements between the two clubs regarding a mandatory buy clause.

Burnley had negotiated a loan agreement with a quasi-obligation to buy for Coulibaly, meaning that if the player made a certain number of appearances, the Championship winners of the 2022/23 season would be obligated to acquire him permanently for a fee of €15 million.

Negotiations between Burnley and Dortmund had been underway for several weeks to facilitate the transfer of Coulibaly, who was contracted to Dortmund until 2026.
