Tottenham Hotspur are all set to battle it out with Newcastle United for the services of 27-year-old Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen.

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur will have to battle it out with Newcastle United to secure the services of Joachim Andersen. The 27-year-old centre-back has been doing wonders over the past few seasons and there could be a transfer tussle between the two teams for his services.

Andersen’s first taste of the Premier League came back in the winter of 2020 when he joined Fulham on a six-month loan deal from Olympique Lyon. While he failed to help the Cottagers avoid the drop, the Danish international managed to make a name for himself.

His impressive performance resulted in a permanent move to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021. And, the 27-year-old has gone from strength to strength since making the move. He has been putting in some consistent performances and it has resulted in interest from Spurs as well as the Magpies.

While he still has three years left on his deal with the Eagles, the Danish international is expected to be on the move in the ongoing summer given the amount of interest in his services.

he Australian manager is a big admirer of Andersen and wants to his at the club at any cost. He believes the 27-year-old’s ability on the ball and the fact that he loves to play it out from the back will help end Spurs’ trophy drought.

Meanwhile, they are not alone in the race, even Newcastle would love to have Andersen in their ranks. The Magpies had an exceptional 2022-23 season as they finished inside the top four.

They are all set to feature in the Champions League next season and want to ensure they have enough depth to be competitive in both the league and the UCL. Eddie Howe is looking to bolster his squad and adding the 27-year-old will surely be a step towards the right direction.

While both Spurs and Newcastle are keen on having him in their ranks, the Eagles seem determined to make around £50 million from his sale. As a result, it will be interesting to see how things progress from here on.
