‘MASSIVE PLAYER’: WEST HAM AND DAVID MOYES TIPPED TO SIGN ‘IMPORTANT PLAYER’ FOR £25M
Darren Ambrose has tipped DM ’ West Ham United to sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United for ‘£25 million’.
The former Premier League midfielder added that, if Harry Maguire were to secure a move to the London Stadium, then ‘he would play’, unlike at Old Trafford, as he told talkSPORT.
On Sunday, the 30-year-old announced on his public platforms that Erik ten Hag has stripped him of his Manchester United captaincy.
As a result, that has opened the door even wider and raised even more questions as to how the England centre-back stays on at his current club.
West Ham have shown strong interest in the player, and if he were to leave, then it seems as though he would go to the London Stadium.
Ambrose put a price tag on the player’s head and he thinks a deal could be struck around the ‘£25 million’ mark.
“He was one of our better defenders (at the World Cup),” said Ambrose. “I would, yes, if I was him (a move to West Ham). I would definitely consider that. Declan Rice has now gone. They now have some money to spend.
“Depending on how much it would cost. We spoke £20-30 million. You said £30 million. I went £20 million. I think £20 million is a little low, let’s go with £25 million.
“If I am Harry Maguire, then I need to go and play now. In terms of the England stuff, I don’t think he does. I think he is comfortable. I think he can stay at Manchester United and still get into every England squad.
“He is an important player for Gareth (Southgate). He will know that in his head. But, in terms of his career, he needs to go and play. I think he would play at West Ham. It’s a fresh start. It’s not got the massive expectations Manchester United have, at the moment. He can regain his confidence. There is a massive player in there. I think he is still quality enough.”
Maguire at West Ham
The Hammers now have a lot of money to spend after losing Declan Rice to Arsenal, but a player like Maguire wouldn’t have been top of the supporters’ list.
The struggles he has gone through on the domestic stage for the past two seasons have put a lot of people off and resulted in a lot of criticism going his way.
If Maguire does leave Man United, unless he joins Real Madrid, then that next Premier League club will feel like a step down.

West Ham United are searching for a replacement or two for Declan Rice and their hunt is leading to a whole host of names being linked.
The Hammers have money to spend following the sale of Rice to Arsenal. But David Moyes knows he must make a good decision in spending that cash, given the void left by the former skipper.
Replacing Rice will not be easy, of course. But a number of names are being linked with the job and according to 90Min, Leeds United have actually offered Tyler Adams to the Hammers.
90Min claims that Adams is among the players being considered by West Ham. However, withn the USA international being up north, it remains to be seen if he’d be keen on a move to London.
The Hammers are expected to spend big if they need to get the right player in. Moyes, then, could have quite the decision to make.
Not seen the best of Adams yet
Lauded on Sky Sports last season for being ‘magnificent‘ for Leeds, you get the impression we didn’t quite see the best of Tyler Adams.
Like many at Leeds, he was probably a victim of the club descending into the Championship and with that, his best form never came to the fore.
However, a move back to the top flight could be his second coming. And with the task of replacing Rice at hand, it could be a role that Adams relishes.
Certainly, given he only cost Leeds around £20m, Adams would be a cheaper option for the Hammers.
