Liverpool Put Star Higher On Shortlist After Talks With Representatives

Dominik Szoboszlai has moved up on the list of Liverpool’s desired candidates for midfield after the Reds held a meeting with his representatives, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is drawing interest from Premier League outfits this summer.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe wants to add quality to his midfield and the Magpies have been linked with Szoboszlai, though are splashing out big money for Sandro Tonali.

Liverpool are also interested in the RB Leipzig attacking midfielder and the club have held a meeting with the player’s representatives.

And it has been claimed that after the meeting, Szoboszlai has risen up on the Reds’ midfield target list.

Midfield is an area in which Liverpool are determined to improve in the summer transfer window and they have already added Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.

Szoboszlai, who has three years left on his contract with Leipzig, has a €70m release clause.

However, it is not clear whether Liverpool are willing to trigger the release clause for the midfielder.

They have also been linked with several other midfield targets and it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for the Leipzig star in the coming days and weeks.
