Aston Villa Ask For Information On West Ham Target

Aston Villa are amongst the clubs who have made enquiries into the possibility of signing West Ham United target Denis Zakaria this summer.

The Swiss midfielder has been training away from the rest of the first-team squad and will not be travelling to the United States for Juventus’ pre-season tour.

West Ham have been in talks with Juventus to sign him but the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement over the structure of the deal.

The Hammers are unwilling to include an obligation to buy in a loan deal, which Juventus are insisting on and according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, they could now face Premier League competition for his signature.

Aston Villa have made an enquiry into the possibility of signing the Juventus midfielder this summer.

Unai Emery wants more midfield reinforcements and Zakaria is a player the Villans are considering.

Clubs from Germany have also made enquiries for the former Borussia Monchengladbach star this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa’s enquiry develops into a concrete offer for Zakaria as West Ham continue to haggle with Juventus.

West Ham United have been handed the chance to reignite their interest in Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, according to the Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

According to the report (20 July), the Moroccan international has been made available for a transfer by the Europa League champions and hasn’t travelled with the squad to Germany for pre-season in order to sort out a move.

The Europa League winners are believed to be currently battling crippling debts of around £80million and they are willing to consider offers for the 26-year-old centre-forward as a result.

Taylor, taking to his personal Twitter account (20 June), wrote: “West Ham handed chance to reignite long-term interest in Youssef En-Nesyri, who won’t be travelling to Germany on Friday with Sevilla after being made available for transfer.

“Hammers saw offers rejected in Jan 2021 & Jan 2023.

“Saudi clubs keen.”

En-Nesyri, who starred for Morocco at the World Cup, is certainly going to be a man in demand this summer.

He’s been linked with a move to West Ham in the past but those were under different circumstances after two back-to-back top-seven finishes and a stunning 2020/21 campaign where he hit 18 goals in 38 La Liga games.

Since then, the 26-year-old has certainly endured an unfortunate decline and that is highlighted through his goalscoring record since then, going on to score just 13 goals in two seasons, and it remains to be seen whether En-Nesyri has the qualities to lead West Ham United into a new error.

The Hammers desperately need a ruthless finisher or two if they are to fire on all cylinders next season, both domestically where they are seeking grand improvement and in the Europa League.

The Moroccan bagged four goals on the way to Sevilla’s Europa League triumph last season but whether he can translate that on the scene in East London is another matter entirely.

West Ham can’t afford to be spending bucket loads on players who they are only 50% sure of enjoying a successful East London career.
