Report: West Ham could now sign 6ft 3in midfield destroyer within the next few days

Denis Zakaria is now closing in on West Ham move

West Ham United reportedly could seal the signing of Denis Zakaria within the next few days.

According to a report from Tuttosport, talks are ongoing between West Ham and Juventus regarding the transfer of Denis Zakaria.

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to sign a top-class central midfielder in the summer transfer window, if we are to enjoy a successful season.

It seems as though Zakaria could well be the man who Moyes brings in to bolster his engine room this summer…

Denis Zakaria is now closing in on West Ham move

Tuttosport reckon that the Switzerland international could move to the London Stadium imminently.

I believe that Zakaria will be a very solid addition for West Ham, especially if we manage to pick him up for around £15 million.

However, I wouldn’t be spending any more than that kind of money if I were Moyes.

There are plenty of excellent players available in the transfer market this summer, and in my opinion, Moyes should be setting his sights a little higher than Zakaria.

However, the ex Chelsea loanee is a very decent footballer, and would be a strong addition for us on the one condition that Moyes brings in an elite defensive midfielder as well.

Either way, I really don’t won’t this one dragging on for too long.

Moyes needs to get the signing of a central midfielder over the line…and fast.

Axel Disasi and Youssouf Fofana are at the heart of an internal struggle at West Ham United.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that there is a real divide inside West Ham about their transfer approach.

Some staff want to go for players who have experience of playing in England.

Joao Palhinha, James Ward-Prowse, Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Alex Scott are wanted by those people.

Others want to go towards the European market with moves for Ajax’s Edson Alvarez and Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria.

Monaco duo Axel Disasi and Youssouf Fofana also fit into that category with West Ham unable to get on the same page.

Maybe we see a mixture of the two thought processes but this is not what West Ham fans wanted to hear.

The Hammers have sold Declan Rice and supporters thought his sale would unlock some potential incomings.

Not only do West Ham not seem to be close to any signings, but they seemingly can’t even get a clear transfer strategy in place with the Premier League kick off closing in.

West Ham United target Axel Disasi could end up at Newcastle United

West Ham need to make a firm decision on Disasi pretty quickly – or risk seeing him join a Premier League rival.

Football Transfers suggested earlier in July that Disasi had agreed personal terms to join Newcastle United this summer.

No deal has been completed just yet but Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg suggested last week that Newcastle are really pushing to sign Disasi.

Newcastle appear to have a strong interest in Disasi and West Ham could not only miss out, but end up having to face him soon.

The 25-year-old has excelled in France with Reims and now Monaco having made a 2020 move.

Disasi is a real physical presence at 6ft 3in tall and regularly overpowers attackers in France football.

We can understand why Newcastle and West Ham are keen and the latter may be left kicking themselves if they can’t get on the same page about a deal.
