Vegas Golden Knights Sign Forward Brett Howden to Two-Year Contract
VEGAS (July 19, 2023) – Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, July 19, that the team has signed forward Brett Howden to a two-year contract worth an average annual value of $1,900,000.
Howden has played in 101 games with Vegas during the regular season and collected 33 points (15 G, 18 A). His nine goals over the 2021-22 campaign tied a career high. During the 2023 postseason, the forward helped the Golden Knights raise the Stanley Cup after playing in each of the team’s 22 playoff games and posting 10 points (5 G, 5 A).
Before being acquired by the Golden Knights in July of 2021, the Calgary native spent three seasons in New York with the Rangers and appeared in 178 NHL games. Howden played parts of five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Warriors and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round (27th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
