Now though, the Daily Mail reports that Brighton are interested in the star player and that the English club have held ‘further talks’ over a potential move.

The same report mentions that Ajax priced their midfield talisman at £40million, a fee that would shatter Brighton’s record spend.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Chelsea midfielder will sign a five-year-deal with the Red Devils, keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2028.
