Inter Milan trust West Ham United will agree to sell them Gianluca Scamacca quickly

Inter Milan trust West Ham will agree to sell them Gianluca Scamacca as soon as possible, according to Sky Sports Italy.

Roma begin move for Inter Milan target Gianluca Scamacca

The publication reported on its website on Tuesday (1 August) that the two clubs are working on a definitive agreement to allow Scamacca to join Inter quickly.

The 24-year-old striker joined the East London outfit from Serie A outfit Sassuolo on a five-year contract last summer.

“Inter’s offer of €25million (£21.5million) plus €5million in bonuses should be enough to elicit a yes from West Ham, who initially asked for around €30million,” according to Sky Sports Italy.

“Scamacca immediately opened up the possibility of a transfer to Milan, enticed by the prospect of being able to compete in the Champions League.

“There is trust, with the two clubs working to find a definitive agreement and allow the player to arrive in the city quickly.”

Scamacca is seemingly edging closer to an exit from the London Stadium this summer, with the striker closing in on a move to Champions League finalists Inter Milan.

Things simply haven’t gone to plan for the Italian forward in East London, with a fresh start back in his homeland perhaps the best option for Scamacca at this stage of his career.

He netted just eight times in his debut season in claret and blue, with that figure certainly not high enough for the liking of David Moyes and indeed all fans of the club.

Having previously shone in Serie A, there is perhaps hope that Scamacca can find his form at Inter Milan, with a place in the Italy squad undoubtedly on the line as Euro 2024 approaches.

It certainly makes sense for the player to move on, but it is not exactly great news for West Ham, who will be left very light in terms of striking options as the new season rapidly approaches.
