Ipswich Town are reportedly interested in Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge.

Following their promotion to the Championship, Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna is understood to be prioritising signing a new striker this summer. According to our Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop, Ipswich have added Surridge to their wish list.

But they are not the only second division side to be credited with an interest in the Forest man. He adds that Everton frontman Ellis Simms still remains as a target for McKenna, while interest for Portsmouth’s striker Colby Bishop has cooled.

Surridge made the switch from Stoke City to the City Ground for £2.2million in January last year. He played a part in the Reds’ promotion to the Premier League, but has since falling down the pecking order.

Sunday Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop says the 24-year-old has been added to the Blues’ wish list.

He adds that Everton front man Ellis Simms remains a target, while interest in Portsmouth striker Colby Bishop has cooled.

Former Bournemouth and Stoke striker Surridge represented England at U21 level.

He moved to Forest for a reported £2.2m in January 2022 and helped fire them to the top-flight with eight goals in the second half of the season.

Surridge was subsequently used almost exclusively as an impact sub in the Premier League last season, scoring once in the top-flight.
