Another PL club set sights on Leeds United star who started v Cardiff City – Report
Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto is a reported target for Vincent Kompany’s Burnley this summer as the Clarets prepare to consolidate back in the Premier League.
The Whites are battling to keep hold of a number of key players this summer as they started their Championship campaign at the weekend.
A draw against Cardiff City wasn’t the ideal result, but it did highlight that Leeds have multiple attackers more than good enough to play in the Premier League.
The Telegraph are reporting now that newly-promoted side Burnley are keen on signing Leeds forward Willy Gnonto this month.
Gnonto has been subject to strong interest in the past few weeks from the Premier League, with the club turning down £15million from Everton for his services.
Burnley have been eager to add more wide options to their side, having had multiple bids for Sunderland’s Jack Clarke turned down lately.
The Clarets have not only been linked with a move for the Italian international, though, having also been cited with interest in signing Leeds’ stoppage-time hero Crysencio Summerville – per The Mirror.
Gnonto would be a very strong addition to Kompany’s Burnley and it’s strange to think of him heading to Turf Moor, but it would be a decent move in terms of the coaching.
The only issue here is that we’re clearly not going to be selling Gnonto for cheap, so the Clarets need to cough up or face more rejection.
We are not in a position where we need to sell Gnonto, and his performances could be massive for us going forwards.

Former Leeds United youngster Nohan Kenneh admits the Carabao Cup clash against his former club will be a strange occasion for him. The 20-year-old, who now plays for Shrewsbury Town, will return to Elland Road as a player for the first time since leaving the club last summer.
Kenneh spent last season north of the border with Scottish Premiership side Hibernian making 19 appearances in all competitions. Lee Johnson’s side would loan him to Ross County for the remainder of the season in January where he’d make a further 15 senior appearances.
The midfielder, who can also play in the heart of defence, signed for Salop on a season-long loan deal earlier this summer and played 90 minutes for his new side in their League One opener against Cheltenham Town.
“It’ll be a bit of a strange feeling,” Kenneh told Shrewsbury Town when asked about going up against his former club. “I’d been there since I was only 11 so I’ve got a special feeling for them with everything they did for me as a youngster.
“For me, I’m just going there to win the game, it’s a professional game. It’s Shrewsbury versus Leeds United, it’s not me versus Leeds United.
Kenneh has also lift the lid on his return to England with Shrewsbury boss Matt Taylor playing a pivotal role. He added: “”When I spoke to the head coach here, he made me feel welcome and (explained) how important I was going to be.
“When I heard that it was a no-brainer for me to join and help the team. It’s all about helping the team get as high as we can in the league.”
