JUST IN ;Hull City Boss Confirms Interest In ‘Outstanding’ Former League One Attacker
Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed in his press conference today that the club are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi this summer.
On his exclusive Patreon, journalist Alan Nixon revealed that the Premier League outfit were willing to let the forward head back out on loan this season, with a host of clubs lining up for his signature, including Hull, Leicester City, Ipswich Town and
However, Hull Live reported this past week that Rosenior’s side have made a bid for the former Charlton Athletic loanee and are ‘hopeful’ of getting a deal over the line as soon as possible.
Nonetheless, Rosenior seems confident of coming out on top among the plethora of teams currently chasing the 20-year-old’s services for the forthcoming campaign.
Speaking to BBC Humberside Sport, the former Derby County interim boss admitted that the Tigers are looking to add Rak-Sakyi to the first-team squad:
“We’re aware of him. I’ve known Jez for a long time. I’ve watched him. He had an outstanding loan at Charlton.
“There are a lot of clubs that are interested and he is someone that we are looking at at the moment.”
Rak-Sakyi had a tremendous, or ‘outstanding’ loan spell, in Rosenior’s own words, at Charlton Athletic in League One last season, scoring 15 goals and registering nine assists in 49 appearances for the Addicks.
His spell at the Valley led Charlton manager Dean Holden to say [London News Online]:
“He is a joy to work with. He is not a minute’s hassle – he is low-maintenance but he is high output.”
Rak-Sakyi was phenomenal at Charlton Athletic last season and worked brilliantly under Holden but it’s time for the youngster to challenge himself in a better league with higher quality like the Championship.
A season in England’s second tier would mould the winger to be ready for first-team action in the Premier League ahead of the 2024/25 campaign at Selhurst Park.
