The Reds managed to get a deal for Turner over the line before the Premier League opener. Clearly, the club needed a new stopper, with youngster George Shelvey playing the majority of games in pre-season.
Turner looked pretty comfortable throughout the clash. He made a couple of smart stops and also showed good foot when distributing out from the back.
Forest will definitely want another goalkeeper. Ethan Horvath looks set to be allowed to leave this summer and another stopper to compete with Turner looks likely.
McCoist spoke fondly of Forest when he commentated on them last season and during the 2021/22 season when they caught the eye during a run to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Reds will hope that Turner can keep producing the goods. If he does, Forest will be confident of picking up plenty of points during the campaign.
Nottingham Forest could be in the picture to sign Juventus’ Filip Kostić, according to a report from Italy.
The 30-year-old joined the Serie A side from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and finished his debut season with three goals and 12 assists from 56 games. He was mainly used as a left wing-back while was also deployed as a winger on a few occasions.

It’s claimed a Premier League side have come forward to request information about him and ‘all clues lead to Nottingham Forest’.
TMW state the Tricky Trees are an ‘ambitious’ club who have already looked at the Italian market since they returned to the Premier League in 2022.
The Serbia international earns €2.5m per year and the report states his salary ‘would not be a problem’ for Steve Cooper’s side.
Apart from Nottingham Forest, there would be several clubs in Germany interested in bringing Kostić back to the Bundesliga. VfL Wolfsburg are the only German club mentioned in the report.
