Everton ‘set to make official approach’ for 20-year-old in ‘coming hours’ – Toffees ‘currently in talks’
In need of some extra reinforcements, Everton are looking to add some players before the end of the transfer window.
One of the areas they appear to be trying to bolster is their wings, where PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko is on their list.
This comes from Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Everton are ‘currently in talks’ for the Belgian forward.
Not only that, but Sean Dyche’s side are ‘set to make an official approach’ to the Dutch side in the ‘coming hours’ for a transfer.
That being said, a deal isn’t a guarantee at this moment in time, because Everton do face some particularly strong competition for the 20-year-old, as Paris Saint-Germain are interested.
There’s no mention of how much he would cost the Toffees, but considering the amounts the Eredivisie club have sold some of their players for in the past, it could stretch their wallet.
Of course, there’s always the option of a deferred payment via an initial loan, and it will be interesting to see what comes of all this.

Leeds United have ‘made it clear’ that they won’t sell Wilfried Gnonto.
That’s according to Daniel Farke, who addressed Everton’s interest in the winger and claimed that the club’s stance on his future hadn’t changed after he was removed from first team training.
Gnonto was heavily linked with an immediate move back to the Premier League after the Whites were relegated on the final day of the 2022-23 season.
The Toffees have held a long-standing interest in Gnonto but initially looked to be struggling to persuade Gnonto to move to Merseyside.
However, the 19-year-old has now made himself unavailable to Leeds United as he looks to force through a move to Goodison Park.
Everton have reportedly already had two bids rejected for the forward but will have to dramatically increase their offer if they are to land Gnonto, while Farke believes the club will refuse to sell him at all.
