Nottingham Forest Midfielder Still Tipped To Leave
Nottingham Forest star Lewis O’Brien is likely to leave on loan this summer as a host of Championship outfits line up for his signature, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 24-year-old midfielder joined Nottingham Forest last summer but failed to establish himself in Steve Cooper’s squad.
O’Brien managed only six starts in the league before being sent out on loan to DC United in the winter transfer window.
His performances for Wayne Rooney’s team garnered interest from Sheffield United.
However, Nottingham Forest refused to let O’Brien join their Premier League rivals despite the Blades’ strong interest in him.
Sheffield United are not the only suitors for the midfielder, as several Championship outfits are showing interest in him.
It has been claimed that O’Brien will leave the Tricky Trees this summer on loan to join a Championship outfit.
The midfielder has 123 Championship appearances under his belt and now all eyes will be on him to see where his next destination will be.

Head coach Steve Cooper says there is “alignment” throughout the club over the transfer business Nottingham Forest would like to do before the window closes.
The Reds have brought in goalkeeper Matt Turner, defender Ola Aina and attacker Anthony Elanga so far this window. But they are keen to strengthen further before the September 1 deadline, with Cooper having previously made clear his belief that more signings are required to help the team push on in the
Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares is the latest name to be added to Forest’s list of targets. Outgoings are also expected in the remainder of the window as the club look to trim numbers, with midfielder Gustavo Scarpa heading towards the exit door.
Cooper would not be drawn on interest to Tavares, saying ahead of Friday night’s clash with Sheffield United: “I don’t really want to talk about anything, ins and outs, until something is done permanently. From the ownership, to chief football officer (Ross Wilson) and myself, we’re all keen to bring players in. We’re all working together trying to do that.

“If we can, great. It’s obviously a slow market – there’s not loads going on across the board in the Premier League. If we’re able to do some things, fantastic. If not, then we continue and believe in the guys we have.
“Whatever situation it is, we’ll commit 100 percent to it. But there is a lot of hard work going on. We’re really aligned in what we’d like to do with signings – from myself to Ross and the owner (Evangelos Marinakis). If we can get things done, great. If not, we’ll still commit as we do.
“We’re not desperate to fill anything. Like any manager you can speak to, you’re always looking for the opportunity to strengthen, whether that’s strengthen the team or the squad, depending on the situation of the club. We’re no different.
“We would like to bring players in, and everyone at the club is working hard on that. If we do, great.
“But it is easier said than done, and if we don’t bring players in it won’t be for the lack of trying from everybody. If we don’t, we’ve got a team we believe in and we’ve got a squad we believe in, and we’ll go to work.”
