Konstantinos Mavropanos’ move to West Ham might have now collapsed, according to Santi Aouna.

The FootMercato journalist reported exclusively via Twitter (21 August) that the 25-year-old defender has failed his medical ahead of a move to the London Stadium.Despite a deal being agreed between Stuttgart and David Moyes’ side for the transfer of the Greek international, the medical tests have revealed injury problems, which might now result in the transfer being called.

No one involved in this transfer will be happy after hearing the latest developments. Stuttgart are now set to miss out on the financial benefits, while Mavropanos will not be able to make his return to the Premier League and for the Hammers, it means they are forced back to square one.

Defensive reinforcements are needed within the ranks of the East London outfit and Moyes will be left scratching his head over how unlucky he finds himself in regard to this situation. Very rarely do you hear of a player failing a medical ahead of a reported transfer, but this just about sums up the chaotic transfer window for West Ham this summer.
