Top Brighton talent Facundo Buonanotte is closing in on a loan move to Leeds United.

Buonanotte, 18, played a key role in the tail end of last season in the Premier League as the Seagulls secured a sixth place finish and qualified for the Europa League.

Buonanotte joined Brighton last January for around £10m from Rosario Central but his game time at the Seagulls will be limited this term.

The arrivals of Joao Pedro and Simon Adingra have increased competition for attacking roles, while the return to fitness of Solly March and Adam Lallana will reduce his minutes further.

Buonanotte is a huge talent and the Argentina international is contracted with the Seagulls until June 2027.

Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi is a huge fan but admitted he cannot guarantee him regular football this term and said last week that a loan could be the likely outcome.

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United, who were relegated from the Premier League last term, are now favourites to land the attacking midfielder.

Argentina reporter Victor Bilsky posted: “IS IT LEAVING? The words of De Zerbi cleared up doubts about the future of many youth players who are leaving and, in this case, Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton would be another of those on loan: with a purchase option to Leeds, who has already started talks for the former #RosarioCentral.”

It is however believed the move would be a straight loan, with no purchase option as Albion quite rightly see him as one for the future.

Much of the business was done earlier in the window and Rangers may now focus on getting players out.

Ianis Hagi could move on whilst question marks surround the likes of Ben Davies and Scott Wright.

Then there is Glen Kamara, who has seemingly been poised to leave Rangers all summer long.

Michael Beale told the Daily Record in late July that Kamara was training on his own, seemingly paving the way for an exit.

Nearly a month on, Kamara is still at Rangers and time is running out for his potential departure.

Kamara isn’t in the plans at Rangers but one potential departure route is becoming a little tricky.

The Daily Mail now report that Leeds United to still want Kamara, as has been rumoured for much of the summer.

However, the report also highlights that Leeds are now discussing a move for Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean.

Forest boss Daniel Farke knows McLean from his time in charge of Norwich and may now chase a reunion.

This would be quite the twist of fate given that McLean is a boyhood Rangers.

McLean admitted to The Athletic in 2021 that he grew up supporting Rangers and he even spent some time in the Ibrox youth ranks.

The 31-year-old didn’t make the grade at Rangers but has gone on to enjoy a fine career with St Mirren, Aberdeen and Norwich City.

McLean has been linked with Rangers for years but the move has never quite materialised.

Leeds could now pounce for McLean and leave his boyhood club Rangers in a sport of bother regarding Kamara’s future with the transfer deadline fast approaching.
