Striker targeted and more: Every Norwich City transfer rumour so far this month
Norwich City have made an impressive start to the new Championship season under David Wagner.
Norwich City have picked up seven points from their first three games and beat Millwall 3-1 over the weekend.
They have until the transfer deadline on Friday 1st September to complete any incoming or outgoing deals. A few players have been linked with an exit from Carrow Road and Swansea City are said to have looked at left-back Sam McCallum this summer, as per BBC Sport.
TEAMtalk claim AFC Bournemouth are keen on defender Andrew Omobamidele. He has been a key player since moving to East Anglia back in 2018. The Cherries have already swooped to land Max Aarons in this window and could see the Republic of Ireland international as another player who would bolster their backline.
Leeds United are interested in Canaries striker Josh Sargent, as per Football Insider, and midfielder Kenny McLean, via TEAMtalk. The Whites are in the hunt for more additions before the end of the month under Daniel Farke following a host of exits from Elland Road over recent times.
The door is still open for Norwich to bring in more reinforcements to build on their strong start. They are said to be admirers of Pedro Lima from Palmeiras, according to ESPN Brasil (via Sport Witness). The 20-year-old, who has been on the books of his current club for his whole career to date, is being tipped for a bright future in the game.
Finally, TuttoMercato (Via SportWitness) report that Wagner is an admirer of Venezia striker Joel Pohjanpalo along with Leeds and Blackburn Rovers. The Finland international was released to Serie B last term and his future is up in the air at the moment.

The Canaries were given a stern test by their Suffolk opponents, who were playing in their first-ever Women’s National League Division One South East match on Sunday after earning back-to-back promotions. However, City held firm and managed to secure an important opening day win.
“I think most of the girls would’ve got a seven-out-of-10 today (individually), it just didn’t work as a collective,” he said. “We just struggled to get going.
“We didn’t really string five passes together, we didn’t play with any calm. We’ve got to give credit to Sudbury, because they had a game plan that definitely challenged us at times.
“We still want to live in our values, but one thing I’ve said to the girls is that we might have to adapt sometimes. We might have to play over the press, and that kind of worked for us today, because when we invited the press they were pinching the ball from us.
“What the girls said in the huddle (at full-time) was that this would have normally been a defeat. We don’t win ugly usually, so to be on the other side of that is fantastic.
“Yes we didn’t get to play our beautiful football that we envisaged, but you know what, we got the three points, and that’s all that matters today.”
City had led at the break thanks to Kathryn Stanley’s well-taken opener, but the victory came courtesy of Freya Symonds’ 97th-minute free-kick, which was awarded in slightly controversial circumstances.
Discussing the goal, Herdman was keen to compliment his attacker for holding her nerve during a rather chaotic moment.
He said: “Shannon Shaw had the ball eight yards out and at an angle, and was probably going to score, so obviously when the ref blew up everyone lost their minds.
“But then you’ve got Freya over the ball and she just looked so calm, and we knew the clock was running.
“I said to her before the game, ‘I think there’s going to be a bit of magic from you, go and produce something’.
“I’d seen something on Twitter, ‘Freymar Júnior’ I think it said! We’ve had a laugh about that, but she produced it today, and it was a game-changing moment. That’s won us the game, it’s as simple as that.”
Symonds was modest when asked to reveal any potential secrets behind her impressive winner.
She said: “I don’t practise free-kicks. I wish I could say I did, but no, we don’t really get much shooting practice in training.
“I think all the girls were disappointed to not get the advantage, but as soon as the free-kick was given, we all just had to focus on that.
“Digging deep as a team in those moments at the end was key, and the feeling I had when the ball went in, I can’t really put it into words to be honest.”
Symonds is getting ready for a busy few days of club commitments, with the midfielder due to appear alongside Adam Idah at a signing session in Norwich this Wednesday before next weekend’s match away at Cambridge United.

Having seen some of her team-mates taking part in similar events for supporters so far this summer, the 20-year-old is excited to get involved this week.
“We had a lot of weight on our shoulders when we first properly integrated with the club last year, but I think we’ve dealt with it really well,” she said.
“Those sorts of things make you pleased to play for such a great club, especially because we’ve been doing it with the men’s team.
“Inspiring the next generation is something that I think all the girls want to do and aspire to do, so it’s really great to see so many fans going to those events.”
