Report: German side set to make ‘special’ Wolves player a top target if they sell 22-year-old

German side set to make ‘special’ Wolves player a top target if they sell 22-year-old

It seems after being open to selling all summer, Wolves now have almost too much interest in their players.

Liverpool interested in Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes but summer move more likely than January bid | Football News | Sky Sports

With Manchester City circling Matheus Nunes which would bring in a substantial financial boost.

This while not ideal to lose a star player, could actually end up being a positive for Gary O’Neil‘s side.

The struggles to sign players has been well publicised this summer with seemingly no money in the transfer kitty.

This saw Wolves miss out on Alex Scott from Bristol City who has now joined Bournemouth.

Annoyingly, Scott would have been the perfect replacement for the Portugese midfielder.

According to reports in France, Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach are looking at signing Wolves’ young midfielder, Boubacar Traore.

It is reported by L’Equipe that the Germans are set to make Traore their priority in midfield is Manu Kone departs this summer.

Kone has been subject of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United this summer and could still find himself on the move.

Which could mean a late departure from Wolves, leaving little time to find a replacement for their once dubbed ‘special‘ talent.

However given it is Mönchengladbach who are interested, there could be an interesting deal to do.

The interesting comes as Wolves’ top defensive target this summer Nico Elvedi currently plays for Mönchengladbach.

Therefore if the Bundesliga club are keen on signing Traore, Old Gold chiefs should and could suggest a swap which would see Elvedi arrive at Molineux in place of Traore.

This could be a real possibility and given the financial situation at Wolves, it could be the best option available.

Therefore we welcome this interest and are keen to see if it results in some movement.

Sutton insists that this is a ‘big game’ for both Everton and Wolves, with neither side yet to get off the mark in the Premier League this season.

Everton lost 1-0 at home to Fulham but an attacking display reinforced the belief that missed chances would be converted into goals once Dominic Calvert-Lewin was fit.

However, the 26-year-old went off injured 36 minutes into his return at Villa Park last week, as the Toffees slumped to a 4-0 defeat.

Predicting a 1-1 draw, Sutton states that Everton will ‘get off the mark’ for goals this weekend, but the points will be shared at full-time.

Writing for BBC Sport, Sutton said: “Everton played well against Fulham but ended up losing and then were awful against Aston Villa. This is a big game for both, because Wolves played well against Manchester United and then Brighton tore a strip off them.

Everton will get off the mark in terms of goals, they’ll hope Dominic Calvert Lewin is fit and I think they will score. But I also think Wolves will, they won this one late on last year.”

Sean Dyche confirmed in yesterday’s press conference that he will be without DCL, as well as midfielder Alex Iwobi, who joins Dwight McNeil on the sidelines.

The Blues’ £15m centre-forward Neal Maupay has continued his torrid form in front of goal, but Dyche may be forced to continue with the Frenchman.

Dutch attacker Arnaut Danjuma, who is on loan from Villarreal, made an impact when he came on against Aston Villa and should be a better option, but he is yet to start a game this season.

New signing Youssef Chermiti, joining in a £15m deal from Sporting CP, is yet to make his debut for the club, but Dyche was refused to confirm when he would be available for selection during his press conference yesterday afternoon.
