West Ham United agree €45 million deal for Real Madrid target
It is a move that showcases the growing strength of Premier League clubs all across the board. West Ham United appear to be on the verge of signing a player who was wanted by teams like Real Madrid. Los Blancos did not make a move for him though, and it looks like the Hammers have swooped in.
Real Madrid have a reputation for signing the best young talents from around the world. Mohammed Kudus would certainly fall under that category.
Kudus has been linked with Real Madrid on numerous occasions in the past, especially during the 2022 World Cup, when he impressed immensely for Ghana. But it does not look like Los Blancos ever made a real move for him.
Kudus was linked with the likes of Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion and more. But it is West Ham United where his future lies.
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Kudus to West Ham is ‘here we go’. A verbal agreement has been sealed with Ajax on a €45 million total package, add-ons included plus a sell-on clause. A five-year deal has also been agreed and a medical booked for Saturday.
Kudus is currently at Ajax and has impressed immensely during his time there. Of course, there are areas where he needs to improve, which you would expect from most 23-year-old players. But there is no question about his raw talent.
Kudus is capable of playing in the number 10 role as well as on the right flank. If he can fulfil his potential at West Ham United, then he will develop into a special player for sure. No matter which way you look at it, the Hammers have pulled off a massive deal here. As for Real Madrid, they might have held an interest in the Ghana international, but it is hard to see where he would have fit into the current team.

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to sign a talented young left-back to provide competition and cover for Emerson Palmieri, with Aaron Cresswell well past his best and seemingly trying to leave the London Stadium.
The Mirror reckon that the Hammers are one of numerous clubs keen on signing the Man United defender this summer.
He would be a really interesting addition for West Ham, if Moyes manages to bring him to East London from Manchester.
Fernandez possesses real pace and has impressive stamina levels for someone so young. He is an attacking full-back in every sense, and can even play as a left midfielder or a left winger.
The Spaniard is a really tenacious tackler, is a hard-worker and has a win-at-all-costs mentality.
I think that if West Ham could get Alvaro Fernandez on a loan deal, it would be good business for the club.
However, the inclusion of an option to buy will be a necessity in my opinion. That way we can sign him permanently if he’s a huge hit at the London Stadium – something that I’m sure he would be.
