New director appointed to the board of parent company Burnley FC

Vlad Torgovnik, a US-based businessman, has been appointed a director of Burnley FC Holdings Ltd.
He is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Millennium Management, where he is responsible for the technology infrastructure, operations and middle office functions.

The company has headquarters in cities around the world, including New York, London, Singapore, Dublin, Hong Kong and Tel Aviv.
Before joining Millennium in 2011, Torgovnik worked at Bank of America.
He also worked for JP Morgan from 1992 to 2001.
Club president Alan Pace believes Torgovnik’s “expertise” will prove invaluable.
Pace said: “We are delighted to welcome Vlad to the board of Burnley FC Holdings Ltd.
“His in-depth knowledge, expertise and valuable experience will really help us develop our vision going forward.

The club’s statement added:
“Burnley FC Holdings Ltd, the affiliated parent company of Burnley Football Club, today announced that Vlad Torgovnik will join the Board of Directors as the new director.
“Bringing on his rich experience after more than a decade as Chief Information Officer and member of the board of directors at one of the world’s largest investment management firms, Vlad’s responsibility for technology infrastructure, The operations and functions of the middle office make him a valuable asset to the board of directors.
“With over 30 years of technology experience, Vlad has held various CIO positions in consumer and investment banking and in 2006 was recognized by Bankers magazine as the CIO of the Capital Markets of the Year.
“Vlad holds a bachelor’s degree in math and computer science from New York University and a master’s degree in computer science from Columbia University.

Lancashire Police are appealing for ‘dashboard camera footage or any other information’ after the bus was damaged when a brick was thrown from a pedestrian bridge near the Junction 10 slide how Turf Moor several miles away.
No one was injured in the incident but police confirmed the windshield was damaged and said “things could have been much worse”.
Burnley condemned the “attack” after the clash at Turf Moor, saying:
“Burnley Football Club is saddened and dismayed to learn of the attack on the Aston Villa team bus at Junction 10 of the M65 following today’s game.
“After speaking with Villa, we are relieved to hear that no one was injured in the incident.
“We strongly condemn this behavior and will assist Lancashire Police in their efforts to find those responsible.
A statement from Lancashire Police said:
“We now want to hear from anyone who has traveled on this stretch of highway and witnessed the incident or seen those responsible.
“We’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone with a dash cam that can help us with our investigation.
Director Melita Worswick, Lancashire Police, added:
“This incident occurred when there was a lot of traffic leaving the area after the football match between Burnley and Aston Villa.
“Fortunately the brick did not cause further damage or cause serious injury or even death.
“At this stage we cannot say if this was a targeted attack, but investigations are ongoing and will be part of our investigation.
“We are now determined to find the person responsible and ask anyone with information to contact us.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101, citing newspaper 480.
