Three Burnley FC supporters go to court after Man City match unrest
Three football fans will face trial following incidents during the recent match between Burnley and Manchester City at Turf Moor.
In the match Burnley lost 0-3, several incidents occurred including an individual entering the field, an object being thrown onto the pitch hitting a Manchester City player and a flight attendant being assaulted.
Following an investigation by Lancashire Police and Burnley Football Club, three men have been charged or summoned to court.

Elliott Littlefair, 18, of Lyndhurst Road, Burnley, was charged with Section 4 of the Football Offenses Act 1991 – Entering the playing area. He is due to appear in court at Burnley Magistrates Court on November 7. Joshua Newbon, 20, of Schofield Street, Heywood, was summoned to appear before the magistrates a day later on charges of common assault.

Lancashire Police are appealing over ‘dashboard camera footage or any other information’ after the bus was damaged when a brick was thrown from a pedestrian bridge near the Junction 10 slide – how Turf Moor several miles away.
No one was injured in the incident but police confirmed the windshield was damaged and said “it could have been a lot worse”.
Burnley condemned the “attack” after the clash at Turf Moor, saying:
“Burnley Football Club is saddened and dismayed to learn of the attack on the Aston Villa team bus at Junction 10 of the M65 following today’s game.
“After speaking with Villa, we are relieved to hear that no one was injured in the incident. “We strongly condemn this behavior and will assist Lancashire Police in their efforts to find those responsible.”
A statement from Lancashire Police said:
“We now want to hear from anyone who has traveled on this stretch of highway and witnessed the incident or seen those responsible.
“We’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone with a dash cam that can help us with our investigation.”
Director Melita Worswick, Lancashire Police, added:
“This incident occurred when there was a lot of traffic leaving the area after the football match between Burnley and Aston Villa.
“Fortunately the brick did not cause further damage or cause serious injury or even death.”
“At this stage we cannot say if this was a targeted attack, but investigations are ongoing and will be part of our investigation.
“We are now determined to find the person responsible and ask anyone with information to contact us.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101, citing newspaper 480.
